Spice and Wolf episode 4 no-scroll patch

Enough people are having issues with the scrolling network message that I've made a patch to get rid of it. I figured that anyone watching h.264 @ 720p smoothly wouldn't see much difference with a scrolling line, but apparently that's not the case...

anonymousYeah, it was weird - the scroll caused my player to stutter horribly the first time and worked fine after reloading the video. Thanks for the fix either way!

soukyuuThe thing is, it's not the sub that is lagging the player, but the hardsubbed scrolling japanese message! And yeah, i'm using coreavc+cuda on a 2ghz c2d+8600m GT, still laggy.
I had the same issue with pandora hearts RAWs i go from share....

GammawolfIt worked fine on VLC, but failed horribly on Media Player Classic. Didn't need, so i didn't download. Thxs anyway though :D.

anonononymo@soukyuu - same trouble here too. My setup is the same as yours except my CPU is a 2.5GHz Penryn (early '08 MBP). The only way I could get that section to play smoother was to turn off Cuda. It ends up dropping a lot of frames, but it's better than stuttering and sync loss. The problem is that it is at least 45fps during that section. I guess the 8600m GT isn't fast enough to handle that ridiculous framerate. It handles 1080p just fine though (as does my 6-year-old 3.0GHz Northwood P4 desktop).

Regardless, the copyright nag text is unimportant. The action is still in 24fps. No need to waste bandwidth. I just watched an episode from another show with the same scrolling message. There was zero stuttering because the framerate was kept at 24.
RutabagaThe problem for me is not the performance. It works fine in VLC on my Mac Mini with its crappy Intel GMA 950. No, the problem is that most other video players, while they do display the subtitles, don't support all of ASS's advanced features. At best they don't display the scrolling text at all (Perian plugin for QuickTime), at worst they turn it into an unwatchable mess (MPlayer; the Popcorn Hour). I've seen other anime releases that include both SSA/ASS and SRT; now I understand why. I'm not really here to complain; I love the work you've done and I did manage to fix the problem using the MKV tools and a text editor. I'm glad you didn't include the scrolling text in episode five though. :) Thanks!
##Rutabaga: mplayer does support SSA/ASS rendering (at least, recent versions do). It's just not on by default; you have to give it the -ass parameter.
