Hyouka 07
Today we have Toyosaki Aki channeling the Yui, and Satou Satomi channeling the Ritsu (more than usual). And of course, Nakamura Yuuichi being more Nakamura Yuuichi (does he have any other role?)
Episode 7: 720p | 480p
Dr. fotc's corner
Kuroneko = mai❤waifu. Kobato = mai❤imouto.
Thanks again to Titzilla for his assistance.
The Ghost, When Examined
The Japanese have an old adage, "Yuurei no shoutai mitari kare obana," which
literally means "The ghost, when examined, was just withered flowers." The
premise is that though you think something is one way, it actually is another.
In the case of the ghost, the fear is just in your head. In the case of another
person...

Btw, nice gif :)
Thanks for the release!
I don't know about you guys but the first five episodes reaching a crescendo in uncle I(ce) (s)cream were interesting. Six was a throwaway but if the series were going anywere seven should have been the start of some big mystery where everyone shows their talents forcing all the characters to mature. Doesn't look like it though ...
You could take a look at the light novel, if you do, you will understand what the 6-7 chapters are, the next one is bound to be that interesting as you were saying.

Still waiting for Shirokuma to add tuna delight to his menu like he did Panda's bambu.
Thanks for the delivery and please have a good night!
Is that tomorrow in the early AM, or tomorrow in the afternoon/evening? Just wondering if staying up will catch the release if it's in the next few hours.
Here you go, enjoy.
Thanks for the re-encode, though why a target file size? Most of us just want a 720 re-encode so it's 8-bit and will look better on our rigs than 10-bit, not because we need a smaller file.
btw thanks for the torrent~
Holy cow!! You really went and did Apollon?! Sweeeeet!!
Thanks~
Ah, just caught up to last weeks thread. Forgot to ask which sub group's the re-encodes are based on? Horrible, Commie, WhyNot??
Anyway, good job for this week guys!
I'm saving that animated gif
btw, Nakamura Yuuichi channels Hatori from Sekaichi
Life is wonderful, and so is arctic weather. And treats. Like Hyouka. Hmmm, "You scream, I scream, we all scream for Ice Cream!" after all -- a common song where I grew up.
In addition to translation accuracy, one of the other reasons why I have preferred Mazui's releases since the group was founded is its minimalist typesetting style. It shows respect for the original arts without being intrusive and overbearing on the viewer's screen.
As such, I am personally shocked to discover usage of non-transparent textboxes that block rectangular signs in their entirety in episode 7 of Hyouka. Not only do these typeset textboxes look ugly and out of place (e.g. 15:13), they severely distract viewer's attention from everything else that is displayed in the video frame.
I sincerely hope that Mazui will continue to maintain its high quality typesetting style and techniques, and that we will not see non-transparent textboxes being used again in future Mazui releases.
Best regards,
A Mazui Fan
@Penguin-kun: Once again, thanks for re-encoding this and Apollon.
Although it may be tempting to target a certain filesize to get around the restrictions of a sharing site, the quality can really take a hit. Take a look (zoom in by pressing "Ctrl +"):

Overall, the constrained bitrate produces a much dirtier image (especially noticeable in motion). Picture #1 shows in-focus line smudging/vanishing and smearing throughout (hair and entire bus ceiling), #2 shows out-of-focus mottling, #3 shows subtitle rendering issues and clobbering of solid edges, #4 shows severe blocking problems (notice the briefcase), #4/#5 show blocky gradient banding, #6 shows Chitanda's outline completely missing.
So what to do?! Well, I suggest encoding as normal (perhaps with higher encoding settings) and uploading it in 2 parts as a split archive. 7-zip and WinRAR both have this feature. Hope that helps!

@penguin-fever
Thanks for the mp4 re-encode ;) Also, thanks for Sakamichi no Apollon as well ;) Now if you'd only do Kuroko no Basket too, my life would be complete XD
:D
cant wait.. btw, whats the closest time schedule for the weekly upload of the files?
