Boku Ha Tomodachi Ga Sukunai 01
Yay real 720p! One thing you can't fault this show for is its prettiness. Then again, it is AIC. My internet is being dumb (had to do most of this show through RDP) so the did you know will come later, but here's episode 1 of haganai!
Episode 1 and the XviD

Feels like forever since we did one of these...

That is all.
It's 8bit, thankfully.
Since 10bit videos can't be hw accelerated so far, I am getting pretty much screwed this season. I mean, try to watch 10bit 720p stuff when old Atom CPU has to do the encoding... Even my cellphone does beter job there >_>
Mazui: I
So you are the kind that still does not know it is konnichiha?
my lappy doesnt handle 720s well
i missed you, mazui.
How about you use that time to do 10-bit
> no 10-bit
how's that luddite thing working out for you, mazui?
Thanks you guys.
@rider
read the comment thread for the OVA
Well done...
Usually 720p gets stretched and blurried on my full HD screen, but this one looks looks very good.
Is this because of the quality of the source or are you guys the masters of encoding?
either way, thanks for the hard work.
GO SUCK 10bitCOCKS you elitist faggots of no remorse.
You poor, brah?
For all the "more quality" comments.. if the source is 8 bit, what's the point? It cannot rise above the source, unless the point is to screw over the many people that can't use it.
Thanks so much for the episode! YOU HAVE MY THANKS!
Thanks for the ep Mazui.
And the few people saying shit about how converting an 8 bit to 10 bit has no advantage, and even going as far as to say it doesn't reduce filesize (wait, based on what?), they obviously are basing that on just conventional logic (except the filesize part, that's just stupid no matter how you look at it) and have no actual knowledge of how encoding really works (says the computer engineer who just spent 7 hours straight yesterday encoding videos and shit.. yeah I know I seem to have no life lately).
lovely to see you guys back in action subbing a quality show as always!
This usually happens all the time.
The anime is greatly detailed and designed.
But, sadly lacking the comedy features that are suppose to come with the ugly faces the characters make.
I didn't smile one bit watching this.
It should have comedy removed from the genre for this anime and leave only the romance. Considering that most people are not gonna be impressed when they see this and compare it to the manga.
Great subs though, too bad they couldn't stick with making the characters have a lot of depth in exaggerated emotion.
(zettai zettai mousou shitai/I totally want to imagine things)
I'm actually find some magical ways of running 720p stuff here, but it's always nice to get something that's guaranteed to work. Thank you so much.
and yeah I'll eventually get a new computer geez
I am a member of fansub group in Vietnamese, I want to use your sub in this project to translate into my language to share with other member who can't read English at my site.
Could I have permission to use your sub for my project?
Of course your credit will be kept. I will make sure them appear at the topic and at the start of each episodes. Beside that, I would also gladly do everything else you want.
Thank for reading.
Please answer as soon as you can.
Also, thanks for NOT jumping into the 10bit faggotry. People with older machines really appreciate it.
This show is amusing, and the subs are flawless as per usual. Keep up the good work.
This is not based on a manga. It's based on a light novel series, which the manga is also an adaptation of.
Good luck.

2. ??? (No seriously, who the hell?)
3. Hinata (Angel Beats)

the character for"ha" is considered a particle in japanese. i dont know why, it just is. so when you say "boku wa" you still use the character "ha" even though it's pronounced different. the particle is supposed to identify the topic.
(For those in the ha/wa discussion: As noted, it depends whether you're romanising Japanese as it's spoken or as it's written. I personally prefer a direct conversion from the written mora, but I can understand why there could be disagreement.)
Possible subtitle correction/alteration suggestions:
19:23, "Kono atashi ga nyuubu shite ageru tte itteiru no ni!", spoken as though joining the club would be doing a favour (I think?).
19:30, "'Tomodachi boushuu' tte poster mitekita ndakara!": Revelation, causing Yozara's surprise at 19:32, that Sena was able to read the diagonal 'Tomodachi boushuu' message (predicted as noticable only by those desperately looking for friends). Currently the quoted part is cut out in the subtitle, indicating only that she saw the poster and not addressing the message.
20:07: "watashi no suukou na keikaku no haeru ikenie ichigou ni natte moraou ka", 'Maybe I should have you become my noble plan's first sacrifice.'(/'Perhaps I should have you becom the first sacrifice for my noble plan.'), currently subtitled as 'Perhaps I should adopt that as the first item on my master plan--' (a less direct threat).
('noble'/'lofty'/'sublime' interchangable for suukou.)
20:24, 'dousei' (same sex, translated correctly earlier) currently subtitled as 'in the same year'.
Thanks for the release!
And now some response ranting:
anon above said:
'First off, 8-bit banding can be avoided with proper encode, some studies even go far as to say that banding is created by the display, I have never had banding unless it was a bad encode.'
I'm not sure what is the point in here. It may be true that there are displays that smoothen banding an make it less standing out (especially TV screens, they smoothens pictures quite wildly), but they smoothen sharp egdes too which is bad. Technically, it's NOT displays problem. If you see bands that means your display is sharp(which is good), but the image sucks and should have been done better. Then again, Hi10p is just one of the encodes that happens to make better dithering than standard h264 8bit profile.
'Second, 10-bit encodes use 30% more bandwidth to obtain the same function unless you use higher compression ratios when making them.'
Unless you are talking about something different, I'm pretty sure both 8-bit and 10-bit uses same 32 bits for color. Only difference in this matter is size of alpha channel (8 bits in 8-bit and 2 bits in 10-bit), which is usually not used in movies. Moreover, +2 bits means more accuracy, which means smaller errors, which means more consecutive frames can be encoded with same quality, which means smaller files. This is fact.
'Third, 8bit is compatible with more systems, and more content is released in 8-bit then 10-bit.'
They said the same about XviD and h264 a few years ago.
I'm not saying that 8-bit encode is bad. It's main good side is that it works efficiently even on older computers (and yes, you're right about compatibility with consoles and other non-pc hardware). I just say that if someone wants to argue about technical stuff, this someone should read and know more about technical stuff.
thx for the release ^^
Good start, anyways. And Yozora has dat hair and dem thigh(high)s. I like.
Thanks for your continued hard work, Mazui.

Hint: Famitsu Bunko.
No Mirai Nikki? Why Not? QQ
You can't do that after putting up Mirai Nikki on the projects tab of the site for so long. So dissapointing. The project was a lie!
I don't wanna download it from anyone else! They suuuuuuuck....aloooooot.
