diamondsw@Aum: If you're going by the 2009 air order (which included ten episodes from 2006 in chronological order) then yes, it is 23. In fact, once this arc completes we'll probably see "The Adventures of Mikuru-chan" aired.
AWWhen this is over, I want someone to release an HD version with all of it spliced together, heh or give an easy tutorial for grabbing them out of the mkv.

I kind of want to try it for my own benefit on my pc, just because I want to make sure I get every last frame of each episode so they transition smoothly. A two and a half hour Haruhi film would be interesting, especially with openings and endings removed.

Dr. KI really hope someone will take the "The Adventures of Mikuru-chan" episodes from the original series and then picture-in-picture the scenes from The Sigh of Haruhi Suzumiya from when they were filming the scenes, that would be awesome!

I don't ever remember Kyon being so violent in the book. Did they change it for the anime? I REALLY don't remember him being so angry all the time. And it's not even just in this episode, it was also in previous episodes...

DaVince@PINGAS: hey, I notice a lot more "moments" between Kyon and Haruhi than in the book. By which I mean moments where Haruhi seems to be getting jealous or annoyed by the fact that Kyon likes Asahina and Nagato more. I actually think these more exaggerated emotions do a lot of good to the anime (even Kyon being angry all the time, it can actually build up to something).
DaVince@Anon: rather than Kyon having no balls he just doesn't have a clue on what to do about that crazy-ass girl. Especially with the hidden "added danger" that makes everyone a bit less active, making her think it's all good.

EdIs there really a reason to be bothered by anyone calling this first or second season? Obviously the most recent episodes are showing material that we've already seen in the episode where they watch the movie they made, and considering how loosely the episodes can be shown the whole concept of season with Haruhi means very little at all. Rebroadcast, new season, finishing up the first season...it really doesn't matter.

Seriously, it doesn't matter. Don't get in a huff about it.

Just be glad that the last episode finally didn't totally bore you to tears. =)
anonymousSome people care because officially Kadokawa/KyoAni have gone out of their way to say it's not a second season and there's evidence showing that they are indeed counting every single episode aired so far as 'one continuous season.' It's only the fans who ignored what was being said and shown that refer to it as the second season.
