Episode notes
The 12 Maniwa corps heads are named after animals, as you might infer from their appearance. Koumori means "bat", while Shirasagi means "heron".
Shirasagi's backward speak in Japanese is far worse than how I translated it - he reverses words too, so it's completely unintelligible.
Iaido (居合道), or "the art of the draw" is actually a whole sword school unto itself. Wiki has more on it.

@Vladeshi: If you look at nowadays' releases, they roughly use about 13-15MB per minute, so with OP+ED being about 3 mins long, it's not surprising for them to take about 45MB in size.

TopspinThanks Mazui! Your dedication is probably greater than the makers of this show. It could be really something if they made it just 22 minutes, hence dropping the horrible filler and childish stuff.

It's like they're actively trying to fail, despite the relatively strong core material in the episode. The weak Horo reference could have been a lot better as well.

Detective@Topspin: The show comes from the same creator as Bakemonogatari which was an anime that thrived on frivolous dialogue and silly puns. If you don't like it by now it probably won't be your cup of tea. I actually don't find the strong point in the beyond-archetypal quest for swords but in the pseudo-couples conversations.

worldjemI think that when Shirasagi Maniwa was introduced, the subs should have read in pig latin rather than backwards sentences because he's saying the words backwards not the sentence. But I guess it doesn't matter too much. lol
