I totally forgot to convince the encoder that crf 20 is okay, so you get another 400MB episode. Though quite frankly, this one deserves it.

philipactually, i don't really know the reason, but i fixed it myself by just fixing the typesetting and muxing it back.

HymirvetrPeople should stop watching .mkvs on their calculators using outdated codecs,or use the appropriate player,which is always Media Player Classic,be it 64bit without codecs,which works pretty well for me,or 32bit with the cccp.

ShadowI just recently started using MPC-HC (32bit)without any codecs installed (I do have Haali installed) and it plays everything so far. I'm playing H.264 in DXVA mode using an nVidia 8800GT, so if it doesn't work for someone using a mobo vid-chip, FFDShow and/or Core (for x.264 only) should get you through.

Shadow@Kor: Install Haali (if it isn't already) and in MPC > Options > Playback > Output choose Haali Renderer. Also, under Internal Filters, make sure MKV in the left column is UNchecked. Click OK and restart MPC.

See if that helps. If you have a good vid card, try MPC-HC using it's internal DXVA. See their site for how to set it up based on your vid card (see the "Additional video decoders ..." link). I don't use CCCP or Core or anything (except Haali) and it plays stuff great.

WentilWhat a -great- episode! I don't mind the 400 MB size at all, the superb quality of the video is absolutely, _absolutely_ worth it. If every Mazui release was 400 MB, I wouldn't mind at all -- those who want smaller size ones can get the XVIDs! Keep up the great work, you guys ROCK!

CaekI think the lag at the op is because it's soft subbed, try turning the subs off for the op and see what happens.
ehlundo you use the external or the internal subtitle renderer ? i use a crappy pc (intel atom) but with the internal subtitle renderer there's no problem

I'm seeing the same as philip: The subs drop at 15:33. Also, for whatever reason, the lyrics on that song are cut off, I couldn't read the last few letters of each line. The Japanese letters are also cut off a tad.
This is on SMplayer; vlc doesn't do ASS subtitles for me, as it seems.
ehlunwith smplayer you are using an unix os right ?

if yes ican't test it with my ubuntu version the multi threader in smplayer din't work at my cpu / os version.

OjiveIn regards to the OP/ED lagging, I tried disabling the subtitle track, and it seems to run smoothly if you do so-and my computer isn't exactly top of the line. Must just have something to do with how the songs are subtitled-I noticed a bit of lag in the musical segment in this latest episode, but not nearly as present as in the OP.

Aside from that, I am rather impressed by the sheer speed you guys are putting this out at-particularly given that you've been consistently getting the latest episode subbed a day before wikipedia says it airs in Japan.
TistarugianIn the ED Iwasawa-chan is not there any more (compare episode 2's ED to 3), I think that she "achieved inner peace" and vanished, similar to Buddhist teachings, by reaching enlightenment you transcend existence. Just my opinion though. The episode was so moving, even more so for a musician like myself.

SuomynonaThe only lag i'm getting is from the specially placed on-screen subtitles (like the one on the title screen). If subs are disabled, it's alright. Pity the vobsub filter is missing a "force minimalist subtitles" function - it's the cause of lag for all videos i watch.
Suomynonaffdshow's subtitle filter works slightly faster with tweaked options. If you're using MPC, go to the external filter tab in options, Add Filter, and select DirectVobSub(Autoloading), make sure BLOCK is ticked. Add ffdshow's subtitle filter to the list and tick PREFER.
if curious...With all three episodes, of "Angel Beats!", I get a QuickTime Alert:

*** -[NSCFString characterAtIndex:]: Range or index out of bounds

I don't have this problem, with any other Mazui releases, including episode 04, of "Katanagatari" -just the mkv "Angel Beats!"

I still have the files and screen shots, with alert, if curious...

Thanks for that its helped loads I can actually watch through MKV episodes with no unsyncing, I wouldnt have figured that on my own at any rate
btw there was no MKV option in Internal filters in either left or right columns dont know if it matters now that its working nicely

I'm running QuickTime, supplemented, with Perian.
The alert appears, within the first minute(s), after the OP finishes...
Then with the alert, QuickTime crashes -a first, for me!

When I looked up the alert, I found, that in the past, it was, at times, connected, to overloading fonts -the articles were dated 2005/6, and I don't have thousands of fonts, as was suggested...

Anyway, I'll continue, to search, for a solution, on my end, and hopefully, before the end, of the series, I'll have found one.

I just wanted, to post my experience here, as it was specific, to those files.

You can try using a codec pack. For me, I'm using Combined Community Codec Pack (search for CCCP), download, and install. It also gives you the option of using the Media Player Classic to be the default player to certain types of videos, i.e., avi, mkv, or a combination of videos.
I have mine to be the default to all the videos and so far, no problems.
