Suzumiya Haruhi no Shoushitsu BD
Took a couple weeks, but here it is! Our final releases of The Disappearance of Suzumiya Haruhi, encoded from BD.

Edit: I guess this is also a good time to announce for those who aren't already aware that we aren't doing any new shows this season. Index is ongoing though, so it isn't as much of a break as I'd like it to be, but oh well.
The BD has some terribad banding which we tried our best to fix. The left and center channels on the 5.1 sound were flipped too, so that's fixed as well. This release only contains the 5.1 channel in flac. I've tested the 1080 on an Athlon X2 4400 with 1GB of ram, so if you can't handle it, either your computer is from the stone age or your codec setup sucks.

Also, eagerly waiting to see which anime you are going to pick this season, if any. :)
Don't bother watching everything from S2 though. If you notice that things seem to repeat a bit, just skip 6 episodes and continue from there! ^^
Do you know how much I've waited for this?
I agree with your taking a break this season - there isn't shit out that's worth the hassle of subbing.
It's kind of a shame that Ayako picked up Onii-chan though - franz and I were looking forward to "subbing" it! :P
Lol
The difference is that the old 1080p was using the shareraw that was floating around and this new 1080p, they encoded from the BD themselves. The main difference is that the shareraw had been rushed so it could be released quickly and was lacking quality in both audio and video. But this new 1080p had a nice slow encoding which preserved the quality of the audio and video.
you could just download the share raw which is 4gb. just put this in your search
[Mazui] Suzumiya Haruhi no Shoushitsu [1080p][3E0D82AE].mkv
and patches are only for fixing sub files, they can't fix video size.
Just to make it clear Thoranime do not over bloat their releases. Laputa was only 17GB as its a really old movie (1986) Because its old It has a lot of grain. Grain has really shit compression rates so if the group wants to stay true to the source and keep the grain there is no way of getting a small file size without quality loss.
GeRo~ GeRo~ (^_^)~
Mazui 720p /FLAC: 6.26 GB
Both look pretty much the same.
Shitty encoding much?
I'll see the hell out of this.
Do your eyes need checking? Or were you just looking at screenshots and not the video itself? The difference is incredibly apparent while everything is moving.

Have you limited your upload much? I'm uploading at 100Kb/s and my download is between 300Kb/s to 500Kb/s :D Torrents are about sharing :P
I'm not criticizing the releases of Thora, I'm one of their fans and I'm downloading their releases. And yes you are correct when you said they don't over bloat their releases, because that's precisely the point, this huge filesizes isn't done to troll and piss people, it's their because it has a purpose,..which sadly not every one here understands. For people aiming for the out most quality then download the 1080p 10.2GB release, the 720p is also good, but the original shareraw is good also (although not as good as the bigger release). Anyways, people will not appreciate the bigger releases in older monitors. I suggest watching the release in bigger HDTVs, then feel free to complaint if the quality isn't any different.

I'll add the other Mazui scripts to it later today (which won't include Index2 for now as I don't watch that shit).
Useful at least until Ulrezaj stops sleeping all day and fixes the site :P
But then, I hope you'll now have time to do good speedsubbing with Index. And I mean _speed_subbing. You claim to be _speed_subbing group.
And we DO miss did-you-know's!
Does anyone know whether some non-Ayako group is subbing/going to sub Oniichan no Koto?
Thanks. >
@Ulrezaj: thanks for the edit. which means i will probably look forward to next season. Probably Ao no Exorcist? lol, just saying. Thanks as always for bringing quality anime subs. :)
and the music is not half bad either so i hoped for quality release for the sound also
Yes, after even Gosick turned out to be otaku-suited and Madoka was actually good, all hope is lost...
Keep up the good work, I have faith in you.
I have the exact same configuration as you (software wise), and the video plays fine for me. Have you tried force rechecking the video in your torrent program? Maybe some part got corrupt.
And don't forget the music is by parts of ISOSYS. I LOL'D HARD when I noticed the ending song was sung by a member and the music was done by ARM. Just fucking epic.
Yeah I made sure, I kept the seed to make sure it is not corrupt. By my observations, it would seem I needed to enable the ffdshow audio component which I left block (don't usually use it since most shows render without it)to get it to work, not sure what is it about the audio, but it works with these settings.
The only reason I can think of might be this:
Most people just use eac3to to convert to flac (which used flac -6 I think). I use straight flac cli encoder with -8 option which results in the best compression (and slowest to encode). MPC-HC decoder might have some issues decoding it for some god unknown reason, but nothing else does so it sounds like a bug in its internal flac decoder.
Looks like the case, I redid my settings and updated a few of my codecs. The internal flac seems a little meh so I tweaked a few more things. Now works fine. I think this maybe the first Mazui video I downloaded that uses FLAC. Now a days I would have thought AAC would me more commonly used.
Probably not Coalgirls' version.
"Torrents are about sharing :P"
No shit. I "shared" the camrip to a nearly 5:1 ratio, and the 400p to at least 2:1. I think it's time for everyone else to "share" the 720p and open their upstream to more than 5 KB/sec. Mine is set to "unlimited".
So what? When I downloaded the gundam00 movie I seeded back twice what I downloaded, that doesn't mean I will get a faster download speed if I leech another torrent... The fact about torrents is If you want to download at a fast speed don't limit your upload to a really slow speed.
No problem with playback at all: On linux here, system is powered by an Core i5-M450. Media player is mplayer with ffmpeg-mt, I could leave the CPU's powersave mode on through the entire movie. Audio quality was superbe too (headphone user, used the HRTF plugin to downmix the multi-channel source to a headphone-compatible stereo signal).
So a big thanks for this awesome release goes to Mazui! ;)
The downside of living in a third world country, computer parts are always expensive. Guess I'll have to download 720p.
Does it effect it the quality for some reason or what does it do?
I remember my excitement while watching the camrip. I cannot wait to see this film in BD quality. Thank you for your efforts in the name of the Goddess as well as all your other projects. I hope that you all are able to get some rest this spring...Cheerio!

Anyway great work and thanks a lot for your hard work.
If possible, could you guys release comparison shots vs Doki and CG? I'm curious if there are any noticeable differences in your version (mainly banding).
I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks.
If you want to compare the movies you have to see them in motion.
There's an error right at the start.
00:04:14 Mikuru "Kyon-kun, I'll come after I'm done a couple tasks."
And I too am getting incomplete subtitles for the terminal messages (starting from 01:35:40). ;_;
I want my Haruhi ;_;
@anonymous - I want to compare the colors/filtering in the images. I'm not really worried that it's not quality when in motion. 10gb is more than enough to ease my mind in regards to that.
i would have looked forward to more shows this season. i dont know anything new coming out i wanna check out, but i always betted on mazui for the last 2 years. shame.
well haruhi was a good note to end on, so ill stop complaining. thanks again mazui!
PLEASE SEED!
I had the same thing. For some reason it was trying to play the full 5.1 surround through my two speakers and I was only getting the back channels. Try a different media player.
Why not just turn on your Mixer filter in ffdshow and set it for the correct number of speakers you have so it can downmix the audio properly.
This was in MPlayer OSX Extended. Couldn't find an option to do that. It wasn't a big bother though since I had planned on moving it to my PC to play it on my tv anyway. CCCP did the job correctly.
http://darkchaos.info/mazui/scripts/
I've updated it with everything save for what's listed in the "todo" list at the top. Had a small issue with my media server so there was a delay in actually getting everything up there heh.
There's a fonts directory as well; however, at the moment it only contains a single "pack" of all of the fonts used by the scripts I have uploaded atm. Later I'll get around to making font packs for individual releases (ie. Angel Beats will have its own pack, etc). Later likely being early next month when I get the PSU back for my server.
Keep it up!
It took me about 3 days to torrent thx to PeerBlock (I didn't disable it and it kept rejecting connection requests).
Doki's video+karaoke+typesetting
with Mazui's audio+dialogues... lol
As he said it's Doki's video w/ Mazui's subs.
Did you mean normal DVD or AVCHD DVD?
Mazui subs > other subs.
If your HDD isn't big enough to hold at least 50 of this, you're a fucking faggot.
